Silicone rubber, RTV sealant, and elastomer specification support for industrial buyers. Send a requirement
Services

Technical service trimmed to the decisions buyers actually make.

Momentive supports silicone and elastomer programs by narrowing grade options, aligning documentation, and translating application requirements into a sample and qualification path.

Method

Four steps keep the inquiry compact.

  1. Define the sealing or elastomer function. Momentive asks whether the material must bond, cushion, insulate, seal, dampen vibration, resist fluids, or provide environmental protection. That first classification prevents RTV sealants, foam, and molded rubber options from being mixed without purpose.
  2. Lock the operating envelope. Temperature range, compression load, UV exposure, cleaning chemistry, dynamic movement, and contact media are captured before a grade is suggested. The goal is to compare candidates against the real service environment instead of a broad catalog description.
  3. Check approval documents before trial lots. Many silicone programs fail late because a certificate, declaration, SDS, shelf-life statement, or restricted substance response was not available in time. Momentive pushes the documentation question forward so engineering and quality teams can review the same material candidate.
  4. Move from sample to production terms. Once a candidate is reasonable, the conversation turns to sample size, package form, minimum order quantity, lead time, lot traceability, and change-control expectations. This keeps sourcing, engineering, and plant teams aligned before the material reaches a line trial.
